Wallingford Regatta 4th May 2003 Weybridge Ladies Amateur Rowing Club have been performing well in competition this year. the most recent success has been at Wallingford regatta on Sunday 4th May 2003 at Dorney lake. Claire Traynor, Amy Bezant, Catherine Pettman and Hilary Poole formed a womens senior 2 Quadruple Sculls crew and won the event after a hard fought 6 lane final beating Vesta RC, Henley RC, Headington A and B and Eton Excelsior.Amy Bezant, who is only 15 years old made a debut in Womens Novice Sculls along with several other juniors from the club. All put in a respectable performance but failed to win a place in the final of that boat class. The win in the WS2 Quad Sculls was in a boat called Belvedere which was kindly financed by Try Homes in conjunction with Sportsmatch 2001. Wins include the WS1 Quad Sculls at Kingston Head in March this year. Try Homes have kindly extended their sponsorship of the club this year by purchasing a small single sculling boat "Oakdene" for junior members. The boat will make its first appearance at Thames Ditton Regatta on Sat 17th may 2003.
