I am pleased to advise you all that the roof is NOW FINISHED!! The roofer completed the last few tiles yesterday (Mon), the final skip arrived and all our rubbish has gone...phew! Thank you to everyone who helped at the week end with clearing, scraping, washing, sweeping, sanding, lighting, tea making and all the other jobs.
A big thank you to our sponsor (esp.co.uk) who has funded the roof repairs.
Carol has confirmed she will be down on SAT to sort out the Novices at 9.30. As boats are limited I think it will probably mean a few outings but Carol will arrange times etc.
Jules is doing some painting with help from the novices and any one else who wants to get messy, the more the merrier as there is a LOT to paint!
The WLARC AGM will be held on Sunday 22nd October 2006
To coincide with our annual two-week break of activities at the club, we have taken the opportunity to carry out essential repairs to the roof of the rowing club boathouse. In addition to this we decided to take advantage of the scaffolding in situ to facilitate the re-decoration of the exterior of the building at this time.
Out of our duty of care and responsibility, the decision was taken by the club committee to make the whole of the boathouse and grounds out of bounds during this time, with no boating, once work commenced. You should by now have been advised of this, and closure notices have been posted at the club. I hope you will appreciate our best intention to secure your safety and well-being.
Our anticipated date for completion of the roofing and painting work and resumption of normal club activities is Saturday, 30th September. If there are any changes to this we will notify you.

The J16 8+ participated in the schools head race on 9th March, the weather was horrible; rainy and windy, but everyone pulled through and we managed to come 6th and get a good time of 00:21:50. Thanks to Hillary who drove us there and Richard for cycling the whole race with us. It was a wicked day!!! -Lara
