There were five entries in the Egham regatta, and an 'easy' win in the WJ12 1x!

A big thank you to all the competitors and the army of volunteers that helped to make this year's Regatta a great success. Certainly the rowers, umpires and marshalls had their work cut out with some tight race scheduling, but everyone took to the challenge and the last race was seen off with two minutes to spare!

Determined to try a 'new bit of river', two Novice crews headed for Abingdon to compete in the WN2x category, to find out just how bendy a river can be compared to the Desborough cut.

Rowed an eight in the WS2 category, in 21'07" Cold? Only the first 21'06 seconds..

Weybridge Ladies entered two crews in the race, a Novice coxed quad and a Junior 14 coxed quad.

The Novice coxed quad were entered in the category of Womens' Novice Vet in their very first race together. The crew comprised of Louise Cope (bow), Sarah Millwater (2), Libi Harrison (3), Sarah Aylett (stroke), Elaine Green (Cox). They completed the course in 16.08 minutes with their best row ever. They were all thoroughly exhausted at the finish but delighted with their performance and looking forward to the next event.

The Junior 14 coxed quad did extremely well and just missed out on 1st position in their category with a very respectable time of 15.19 minutes. Well done everyone!

The Hyne Cup is a private race between eights from Weybridge RC and Walton. Other local clubs are invited to race, and WLARC entered two crews. You can read the results from this year's host Walton RC. Walton bridge is a popular spot for a clash of blades, and spectators weren't disappointed. No pics of that, but there are a few others here.

WLARC have a crew entered in the WJ15 4x+ event. The results are on the Hampton School's rowing site.

A couple of WLARC members braved the winter winds to run through Windsor Great Park for the 28th race. Not sure where they came, or if they're still stuck in a muddy puddle somewhere ...
